An interesting fact about August 2010 is that it has 5 Sundays, 5 Mondays, 5 Tuesdays, all in one month. It happens once in 823 years. For Muslims, Ramadhan also falls in August 2010. The Muslims will begin fasting from 11th August 2010.
Do you know of any special events that will occur in the month of August 2010?

Interesting that the youth olympic games have received NO publicity over here. This is despite the London 2012 effect meaning that even a regular season NBA game is linked with “promoting basketball at 2012″
Ramadan is early this year also? Is that connected to the 5 Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays?

Hi, we are feeling it so much here either. It should at least be linked to the London 2012. Afterall it is the OLYMPICS.
Ramadhan starts ealier every year and it meets most other festivals at some stage. No it is not connected with the 5 Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Just happen to be so every 823 years. “Since the Islamic lunar calendar year is 11 to 12 days shorter than the solar year and contains no intercalation, Ramadan migrates throughout the seasons. The Islamic day starts after sunset. ” More info on wikipedia. Click here.
